Washington, DC – After considerable conversations and listening sessions with members of the National Family Farm Coalition, we are pleased to present our principles for the 2018 Farm Bill.  These principles have been drafted as the basis for returning equity, diversity, and sustainability to the food and agriculture system, overall, and to food producers of all kinds, in particular. Establishing cost-of-production pricing, equitable access to credit, fair competition, and resolute conservation measures would benefit family farmers and ranchers and their families, local schools and businesses, and regional infrastructure, as would reinstating USDA’s Office of Rural Development. These measures are crucial to revitalizing rural America, invigorating our economy, and restoring our country to good health from all perspectives.
