NFFC Among Orgs Asking President Obama to Protect Pollinators

NFFCNFFC Weighs In

On March 1, NFFC ally Pesticide Action Network North America delivered a letter to President Obama and White House Task Force on Pollinator Health officials urging greater action to protect bees. An impressive 125+ groups from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines, including environmental, beekeeper, investor, farmer and faith, joined NFFC on PANNA’s letter.

The letter concluded:
“The current registrations of persistent, systemic pesticides are causing unreasonable adverse effects on the environment and the economy. The Presidential Memorandum prompts EPA to take a comprehensive look at pesticides including neonicotinoids in order to identify the appropriate actions to protect pollinators. As the agency charged with registering pesticides, EPA has an opportunity to help protect our nation’s pollinators and the biological diversity that they support.”
