DESCRIPTION:Carbon offsets are ballooning in voluntary and compliance markets, threatening to undermine global climate goals by propping up fossil fuels and unsustainable farming practices, while harming vulnerable communities. Despite these impacts and significant problems with the scientific integrity of offsets, global leaders are convening in November at COP 27 in Egypt to further solidify an international carbon offset program.
