The Daily Star Reports on Dairy Farmer Concerns

Several reporters participated in a telepress conference held last month by NFFC executive director Kathy Ozer and dairy farmer leaders. Mark Boshnack from the Daily Star (upstate New York) noted that, ‘Progressive Agriculture Organization manager Arden Tewksbury of Meshoppen, Pa., said that a supply-management system could charge farmers for excess milk produced above a yearly average.’

Bill Gibson, a retired county director with the USDA now working with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Otsego County and the New York Center for Agricultural Health and Medicine, added, “I don’t know what the path is,” he said, “but I commend people for trying.”
